LAST Saturday night saw Macroom and District Gun Club hold their second Wild Game Night at Mary Anne's Bar, Masseytown, in aid of Macroom Community Hospital.

Despite the freezing weather conditions, a large crowd of local and non-local patrons packed themselves into the bar and lounge to sample the spoils of pheasant, snipe, woodcock, rabbit, venison, roast veg and much more.

All of the wild game was shot locally by club members and prepared by local chef Brian Granville from Granvilles Bar and Grill, who cooked up the treat on site. Each person attending made a donation towards the buffet and the treasurer of Ballyvourney Gun Club, Matt Twomey, also presented a cheque on behalf of his club towards the fundraiser.

That, combined with a raffle afterwards, raised €700 in total for the hospital.
