The GAA Club had a successful year all round last year winning The County Junior B Hurling Championship, and the Duhallow Championship. While the ladies footballers got to the County final twice, following a replay and the Camogie Team took the League Final title. County honours were also accredited to four football players who were on the Duhallow Senior Football panel, along with two players on the U-21 Duhallow Hurling team two on the Duhallow Minor teams.
To honour the players, selectors and mentors they will hold a night of celebrations in Springfort Hall in Mallow on Saturday, February 2, 8pm.
It will be a great night of music and dance preceded by a four course meal of the finest local produce there is to offer. Music on the night will be provided by Little Creatures after the meal.
The players and families will get to relax and unwind after a medal presentation to the victorious teams after a long year. Last year's competitions are not over yet for the hurlers, having the Munster Competition yet to compete in.
It's going to be a great night for the parish to raise a glass to all involved in representing the community both on and off the field. There is a lot of people who do exceptional work in the background before a ball is thrown in and it's nice for everybody to get together and celebrate together. Tickets for the event are on sale at €25 per person which includes meal and entertainment.
They can be purchased from Committee Members Tomas Lenihan 086 061 5032, Donagh Buckley 086 373 8731 and Willie Collins 087 695 0855.
