Fun field event in Clondulane

Avondhu Well done to Fermoy Macra for hosting a successful field evening and tug of war last weekend in Clondulane, all the time and effort put into organising their 'Know Your Neighbour Event really paid off!
A big thanks to everyone that helped out at Charleville Show over the weekend, well done to Ballyhoura Macra on winning the 'Charleville Show Macra Challenge' and to all the other clubs for taking part.
Congratulations to Awbeg Macra's team of Jamie Curtin, Alan Farrell and Adrian Curtin for getting through to the FBD farm skills final at Tullamore Show and to Midleton Macra for also getting through.
Freemount Macra are holding a Midsummer festival from July 26th to 28th 2013 in Freemount village. Friday night starts off proceedings with a Fun Walk/Run, Traditional Irish Music Session and the Baron and Baroness of the Allow Interviews.
Saturday sees a mixed seven aside Football Competition in the evening followed by a Barn Dance with music by "The Sunday Cure" in the Community Centre.
Sunday concludes the festival with a jam packed agenda consisting of a Duck Race, Family Fun Day and Field Evening in Moses Roche's Farm in Freemount followed by Barbeque in the Haggart Bar.
Proceeds from the weekend which is held in conjunction with the Community Development Association are going to fund the new walkway in the village. This is sure to be a great way to get to know your neighbour and support a worthy cause!
Well done to the Freemount Team of Ann Fitzgerald, Lisa Lucey, Michael O' Sullivan and Danny Lane who represented Freemount Macra in the Avondhu Macra Challenge at Charleville Show on Sunday June 30th. The team put in a great performance in a variety of activities that challenged their physical and mental capabilities and were just pipped at the post by Ballyhoura.
Newmarket and District Show is on Sunday July 14th and Freemount Macra will be competing in the Macra competitions at this. Preparations are well underway in training a calf for the Macra calf showing competition at this stage!
Tag rugby continues on Wednesday nights at 7:30pm in Kanturk Rugby Club.
Sliabh Luachra Macra
Newmarket & District Agricultural Show will take place on Sunday 14th July in the Green Glens, Millstreet. Fun for all the family with horse, pony and cattle classes, pets corner, trades exhibitors, unlimited children's amusements for €5, dog show, arts, and carriage driving.
There will be an Inter-Macra club competitions starting at 1.30pm with the tug of war and tractor driving skills. We also have a Macra na Feirme Champion Calf Class with a prize fund of €150.
Donkey derby also takes place on the day with a prize fund of €500 entries taken on the day and racing starts at 3pm.
