Family Fun Day
Sunday July 14th will see another Family Fun Day take place in Meelin. This initiave is part of the Day In The region which is occurring in many Duhallow villages. The aim is to invite as many family & friends to Meelin for this fun event, where there will be plenty of fun, games, entertainment & refreshments for all ages. This is an extra special invitation during this ''Year of The Gathering' in Ireland. It will commence with a Community Mass, followed immediately by the Family Fun Day at Meelin GAA Grounds. More details will follow over the next few weeks.
To mark Carers Week, the Duhallow Carers will be organizing a coffee morning on Sat the 15th of June in the Temperance Hall Kanturk from 11am -1pm. All proceeds will be donated to St. Joseph's Foundation. Please support. For further information contact Louise at 029-60633.
Social Media Training
IRD Duhallow will be running a practical application of social media training for businesses. The concept is to help businesses set up a facebook page, linked in and twitter page and understand the value of these for a business, and learn how to carry out online marketing from these mediums. Duhallow Business Awards
Tickets are for sale for the Duhallow Enterprise Awards Gala Banquet, which is on the 21st of June in the James O'Keeffe Institute. This will be the event of the year, featuring the finest of Duhallow's businesses and special guests. Tickets are €30, book yours today! Contact Louise on 029-60633.
Laugh and Learn Summer Camps
The Youth and Education Working Group is organising Literacy Summer Camps running the 22rd of July and the 26th of July in the James O'Keeffe, Newmarket. The camp is aimed at Primary School Children with learning difficulties and children will spend part of each day with an experienced literacy tutor, engaging with the TTRS (Touch Type Read and Spell Programme) as well as enjoying fun activities such as baking, art and sports. Discounts are offered for those in receipt of a social welfare payment, however there are limited places available and these will go on a first come first served basis.
