Farm relief scholarship

SEAN O'Leary, from Macroom, at 24 years of age won his college round of the Farm Relief Services Memorial Scholarship which rewards students who show outstanding leadership.
The national finals of the Farm Relief Services Memorial Scholarship took place at the Teagasc Colleges Challenge Day in Pallaskenry College, Co. Limerick, last Tuesday, January 15.
The scholarship is run in conjunction with Macra na Feirme and a winner is selected to represent each Teagasc college as a national finalist. Sean was representing the Clonakilty college agricultural students.
In the national final he gave his presentation on the leadership skills shown in a family, to a judging panel made up of Peter Byrne, FRS Networks CEO, Kieran O'Dowd National Chairperson of Macra and Tony Pettit Head of Education with Teagasc. He lost out to Galway man, Ed Payne, in winning the scholarship.
