A GROUP of young people from Duhallow and Kerry jointed more than 70 different nationalities from around the world at the 24th International festival in Medjugorje.
The group of 61 people, which included 50 students, was led by director Fr Sean Tucker and he was assisted by Kiskeam's Tom Dennehy.
They spent one week in Medjugorje and climbed the Apparition Hill and Cross Mountain, as well as attending mass with young people from all over the world. They also met with the Cenacolo community, who are recovering from alcohol and drug addiction. In addition, they attended the theatre, musical shows and took part in a procession through the village.
However, the heat was at times just shy of being unbearable as it climbed to a staggering 44 degrees. It meant that the group had to take time to cool down as temperatures in Duhallow have yet to reach that boiling scale.
Tom Dennehy said that it was a "wonderful trip" and was thoroughly enjoyed by a fantastic group of young people.
