Excited Jack got up in the middle of the night

Mollie O'Keeffe, Ella Marie Dunstan, and Katelyn O'Brien make new friends.

It was all systems go at Boherbue National School on Monday morning as Junior Infants teacher Marie Twomey and Special Needs Assistant Mary O'Leary settled in 24 new arrivals, 14 girls and 10 boys, who looked ever so cute in their brand new navy and red uniforms.

Andrew Duane and Jack Biggane were busy building a Lego tower and Andrew told the Corkman that he is going to be a farmer and a pharmacist when he grows up.

Jack O'Riordan was having great fun playing with the animals. He said he was so excited about coming to school that he got up in the middle of the night. Jack plans to be a policeman when he grows up.

Katelyn O'Brien, meanwhile, was delighted to come to school to play with the doll's house and she was just heading off to cook something in the play kitchen.

Aodhan O'Keeffe visited the zoo over the summer holidays, his favourite animals were the gorillas who he said were "messing around the place". Eoghan Aherne was in Portugal for his holidays and said he got lollipops at the bar, while Jack Biggane visited his godmother, who is a Garda in Dublin.

Orlaith Aherne told the Corkman that Sheila and Katelyn are her best friends in school, and Mollie O'Keeffe had great fun playing with Barney.
