Easter ceremonies in local churches

THERE is a large programme of Church ceremonies this Easter weekend in Mitchelstown Parish. Holy Thursday - Morning Prayer and Bible Reading 10am. Mass of the Lord's Supper 7.30pm followed by procession to the Alter of Repose.

There is a large programme of Church ceremonies this Easter weekend in Mitchelstown Parish. Holy Thursday - Morning Prayer and Bible Reading 10am. Mass of the Lord's Supper 7.30pm followed by procession to the Alter of Repose.

Adoration of the Lord at the Alter of Repose until 12mn. There will be a conducted Holy Hour of Prayer from 11pm to 12mn. All Eucharistic Ministers are asked to be present at the Mass of the Lord's Supper on Holy Thursday to renew their commitment. They are asked to line up at the sanctuary steps during the Prayers of the Faithful.

There will be Mass of the Lord's Supper at 7pm in Ballygiblin and Kilacluig Churches with Adoration till 9pm. Confessions on Thursday Parish Church 12md to 1pm.

Good Friday - Good Friday a day of Fast and Abstinance. Parish Church Morning Prayer & Bible Reading 10am. Celeb ration of the Lord's Passion and Holy Communion 3pm. There will be Stations of the Cross at 7.30pm The Divine Mercy Novena will begin on Good Friday and finishes on 2nd Sunday of Easter April 7. Special ceremonies in the Church on the day from 2pm to 5pm

Confessions Parish Church 12md to 1pm. Good Friday ceremonies in Ballygiblin & Kilacluig Churches Passion of the Lord & Holy Communion 3pm

Stations of the Cross 7.30pm.

Holy Saturday - Holy Saturday morning : Prayer & Bible Reading at 10am

Easter Vigil Mass 9pm (candles will be provided) There will be no 7.30pm on Easter Saturday night. Confessions 12md to 1pm and 6.30pm to 7.30pm

Easter Vigil Mass in Ballygiblin and Kilacluig at 9pm

Masses on Easter Sunday as on every Sunday.

UNDER 21 FOOTBALLERS LOSE

Mitchelstown Under 21 A footballers were well beaten by Clyda Rovers in the championship semi-final at Castletownroche on Saturday last. The final score was 0-19 to 0-3. The local side lined out as follows - Liam Molan, John Fox, Jack Allen, Diarmuid Molan, Robert Frewen, Barry Coffey, Damian Farrelly, Michael Walsh 0-1f, Liam Allen, Ryan Quirke, Luke Hanna, Sean Lane, Joseph O'Sullivan, James Sheehan, Jason Cott 0-2 (0-1f) Subs Josh Evans for Ryan Quirke, David Sheehan for Diarmuid Molan, Shane Price for Joseph O'Sullivan, James Gubbins for Sean Lane.

KNOCKADEA COMMUNITY & SPORTS LOTTO

The numbers drawn were 10, 13 & 21. There was no winner of the jackpot €1,500. THE LATE NOREEN FITZPATRICK

The death occurred during the past week of Noreen Fitzpatrick 23 Benmore Estate Ballyduf Co Kerry. The late Noreen (Nee Crowley) was a native of Mitchelstown. She had been ill for a while and died at a young age being in her early 50s.

There was a large attendance at the removal on Friday evening from Lawlor's Funeral Home Ballyduff to the local St Peter & Paul's Church and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Saturday. Interment took place to Rahela Cemetery. To her family and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.

KILDORRERY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT LOTTO
