Details for this weekend's St Patrick's Day parade

THIS year's St Patrick's day parade will be held after mass (12.30pm) and will start at the West End, with a special guest appearance by Katsuma (Moshi Monster).
If you would like to participate please assemble at the boys school. Vintage cars will line up on the opposite side of the park, on the Clonfert Road. There will be prizes for best dressed window, best float, best costume and best vintage car.
The parade will finish with two dancing demonstrations at the cross, firstly from the children from the Fitzgerald's Dance Academy and from the Sean Nós dancers who were well received last year. There will be the traditional coffee morning in Hourigan's High Street.
Newmarket Pipe Band celebrated their 50th anniversary with a very successful social at the Charleville Park Hotel on Saturday last, March 9.
It was a night in which former and current members reminisced and celebrated the bands history since it's inception in 1963. We all so remembered those former members who are no longer with us Ar dheis da go raibh a anam. Each playing member received a commemorative slate presentation to mark this special occasion.
The band would like to thanks family, friends and the community who celebrated this event and for their support. The band look forward to playing on St. Patrick's Day in Newmarket and Kanturk. We are always looking for new members to join. Practices are held each Friday night at 8pm in the band house, Kerry Road, Newmarket. We look forward to continuing playing for another 50 years.
Little Chefs Easter:
IRD Duhallow will be running its Little Chefs Easter Camp and its I.T. Easter Camp from Monday, March 25, until Friday, April 5, from 9am-2pm for all primary school aged children.
Children will have an opportunity to have some fun while learning to bake; grow vegetables, art and crafts, and also develop their IT skills. To book contact Helen at (029) 60633.
