ON last Friday evening contracts were signed for the construction for a new playground and mini pitch in Kilcorney.
This project which has been worked upon for the past couple of years will see some badly needed facilities coming into the village of Kilcorney. The contract was signed by Ms Sharon Hickey representing the playground development group and Mr Donie Howard representing the Kilcorney Development Association. Pathgate Ltd Cavanagh Playground Equipment, Roscrea, Co Tipperary will be in charge of installing the playground equipment and McSweeney Sports Surfaces Ltd, Adare, Co Limerick will be constructing the pitch.
At the contract signing Development Association Donie Howard said that this is another positive development for Kilcorney and is also much needed as there is a distinct lack of infrastructure for young people in the area. It is hoped that this programme will begin over the next few weeks and it is expected that the project will be completed within 3 months of the commencement of the construction.
