Colaiste Treasa going to the dogs!

The Parents Association of Coláiste Treasa ,Kanturk are going to The Dogs .!! They are holding a fundraising "Night at The Dogs" in Curraheen Park, Cork on this Saturday November 10, 2012. Tickets for the night are for sale in the School, The tickets will cost €20 which will include admission for 2 adults and 2 children and a chance to win €500. Your support would be greatly appreciated, as well as spending a great "Night at The Dogs". for more information ring 029-50062.


The weekly 45 Drive was well attended on Sunday night last. The next ICA Meeting will be held in The Community Centre on Tuesday night next November 13 at 8pm. On this MONDAY NIGHT November 12 Susan Roche,Nutritional Therapist and Homeopath ,will be Guest Speaker in The Club at 8pm. sharp. Be sure and have your questions ready as this will be a most interesting night,everybody welcome.Non Members €5. Tea will be served. (There will be no meeting on Monday night.)!!!


Vigil Mass on this Saturday night at 7pm. Mass on Sunday morning at 10.30am. Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction in The Church every Monday night at 7.30pm.


The Comhaltas AGM. will be held in The Heritage Centre on this Thursday November 8 at 8.30pm. Everybody welcome. We make a special appeal to parents, especially parents who have children learning music to come along and support your local Comhaltas Branch ,your help is needed.!!!


The County Ceol an Gheimhridh Final will be held in Freemount on Sunday November 18 starting at 10am. All competitors must be enrolled as members of Comhaltas . If you are interested in competing make sure you are enrolled a member with your Branch. Perhaps you would be willing to help out on the day stewarding or catering etc. if so you are very welcome . Please contact any member. We need loads of help .!!!


The music classes commenced in The Heritage Centre on Wednesday night September 26.All instruments.


The next get together of The Thursday Club will take place in Cois Abhann on this Thursday November 8 at 1. 30pm. This is a special day when Mass will be celebrated for The Holy Souls, preceded by Confessions at 1.30pm. As usual we say everybody welcome.


The Big Knit is on again.!!!!! This is where you knit a cap for a smoothie bottle and the company will contribute 25c per bottle to Age Action. Our Thursday Club produced a large number of these caps last year,and therefore contributed in a big way to Age Action, for which they are sincerely grateful. Anybody who would like to lend a hand this year should contact The Thursday Club for details. The closing date is November 30. This is a great cause and everybody is welcome to join in The Big Knit.!!!!


On Saturday night last a large crowd gathered in The Heritage Centre to hear the results of The Pride of Place. Freemount were awarded 2nd. place in All Ireland. What a marvellous result for a small Community . Congratulations to all concerned in achieving this wonderful success for our Parish. Ní NEART GO CHUR LE CHéILE...


The weekly Art Class commenced in The Heritage Centre on Tuesday night October 16 at 8pm. These Classes will continue every Tuesday night for the next 8 weeks. Why not come along and have a go with the old paint brush.!!!!


The Annual Duhallow Carers Mass will be held on the 7th of November at 8pm in the James O'Keeffe. Facilitated by Fr. Herlihy of Newmarket. This mass is a celebration of the work done by Carers for the people they care for, as well as an opportunity to remember the deceased group members and people who were cared for by members of the Duhallow Carers Group.

A very productive club meeting was held on Sunday last. The Regional Welding competition is on this Thursday night in Pallaskenry. The Annual Queen of the Land Festival is taking place this coming weekend in Tullamore. If anyone is interested in joining the club members that are going on Saturday 10th please contact a club officer. Child protection training takes place on November 18th in the Firgrove Hotel in Mitchelstown. This would be very beneficial for someone who works with young people and if interested contact a club officer. A club activity day is been planned for Sunday December 2nd.

Freemount Macra are planning a Christmas Party night to see the High Kings in concert in Killarney on Saturday December 15th.

The Regional Round of the National Indoor Soccer Competition is taking place in early December so the weekly sports nights in Boherbue at 7.30 will be an important fixture for Freemount Macra members in the run up to this.

Finally, in follow up to last year's successful shoe box appeal for Team Hope Freemount Macra are once more filling their shoeboxes with little tokens for the less fortunate children in the world. This is a very worthy cause and Freemount Macra will be collecting all shoe boxes this Friday November 9th to be dropped off to Team Hope Representatives the following day. Please support.
