Over 300 golfers played in the Presidents' (Peter Butler) Prize competition at Charleville Golf Club over last weekend.
The event, which is one of the last major competitions at the club for the year, was played in mixed weather conditions from Thursday to Saturday, with the prizes being presented on Saturday night.
The competition was won by Tom Clarson (14) with a score of 44 points followed by Nicholas Hayes (16) on 42 points (CB) with Johnny Neenan (7) in third place with 42 points CB. Carl McCarthy (2) had a gross score of 35 points.
In the ladies section the current Lady Captain Margaret Deady (17) won out this category with a score of 40 points with Margaret Laffan (18) in second place with 39 points CB and Veronica Biggane (27) in third place with 39 points, while Marie Walsh (13) had a gross score of 25 points.
The Ladies Club Day will be played within the next few weeks and that will close out the summer competitions at the Charleville club for this year.
