THE recipients of the Annual Student Bursaries awarded by Kanturk Credit Union were announced recently and they held the Student Bursary presentations in the Credit Union office on Saturday lastr.
Ben Finn Treasurer Kanturk Credit Union presented the cheques to the winners.
The Michael O'Luasa Student Bursaries went to Niall Field, Curraghs, Liscarroll and Brian Mackessy, Ballyheen North, Kanturk.
The Sammy Stamp Student Bursaries went to Keith Mullane, 26 Highfield Crescent, Kanturk and Sarah Kate Jones, Coolageela, Kanturk.
Kanturk Flower and Garden Club will meet on Wednesday 13th November with guest speaker Madeline McKeever of Brown Envelope Seeds who will speak on seed saving and why, and also 'The Resilient Gardener'. Everyone welcome, only €5 entry with teas and coffees served.
YEAR OF FAITH
The final talk in the series to end the "Year of Faith" will take place on Wednesday evening November 13 in Linn Gorm Community Hall (off Market Place) beginning at 7.45pm and ending at 9pm with tea or coffee and informal chat until 9.30pm.
The topic this month is appropriately "The Holy Souls in Puratory". You are asked to please make a special effort to attend the final talk. Everyone welcome and admission is free.
Kanturk and District Community Council will hold a Church Gate Collection before all Masses in Kanturk on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th November.
You are asked to please support and give as generously as possible as the funds raised will be used for the many projects undertaken by the Community Council, such as the maintenance of the Edel Quinn Hall, the O'Brien Street Park and Greenane Park.
Recently the Edel Quinn Hall has had another renovation completed and new seating was placed in Greenane Park plus cameras were placed throughout the town. These are just some of the projects being undertaken by the community council, so they need your continued support.
