Bridget's on a winner with festive display
BRIDGET'S Shop in Charleville's Main Street emerged the winner of the Christmas Shop Window Display Competition which was judged on last Saturday by independent judges from outside the town.
The entry from Cake Art confectionery shop came second and Mes Amis Beauty Salon was placed third in the contest which was sponsored by Charleville Chamber and was an initiative of the Enterprise Group of the Chamber. The competition was arranged to highlight the shopping experience in those shops that entered it and to promote Charleville generally as a shopping destination
The Chamber's marketing officer, Donagh Stack, welcomed the winning proprietors to the presentation of prizes at the Charleville E Centre on last Monday night. He thanked all who had entered the competition for their interest and the committee members from the Chamber for their input into organizing the event.
Cork hurling All-Star goalkeeper Anthony Nash was the special guest for the event and he presented the first prize of €250 to Ms Bridget Reidy of Bridget's Shop who was accompanied by Georgina Sheehan.
Mr Nash presented the second prize of €150 to Cake Art representatives, Deirdre O'Brien and Rachel Drennan and the third prize of €100 to Evelyn and Lorraine O'Leary of Mes Amis Beauty Salon. Also present were P. J. McCarthy, President Charleville Chamber, Jim O'Mahony, chairman Enterprise Group and other entrants in the competition.
