IT was another year for the Moynihan family from Kilworth, and particularly for Maire and Donie who saw a second son passing out for the army this year.

Mark Moynihan qualified as an electrician with Dairygold in Mitchelstown. He successfully applied for one of 80 places in the 125 Recruit Platoon Southern Brigade at Collins Barracks in Cork. There were 1,700 applicants.

Mark's older brother Cpl. Raymond Moynihan has forged a very successful career in the Defence Forces. He is now based in the Curragh with the bomb disposal squad.

Ray was proud to attend Mark's ''passing out'' and the following celebrations at the Rochestown Park Hotel with all the Moynihan family.
