Annual 45 card drive for hospital brings big numbers

THE annual 45 Card Drive in aid of Millstreet District Hospital attracted a large attendance of loyal stalwarts last Saturday night. Maintaining a tradition on the December 8 date, the staging returned to the Green Glens Complex thanks to the kind permission of the Duggan family.

Organisers greatly appreciated the support of local business outlets for the attractive prizes on offer. As the cards were dished out, the games continued at a brisk pace. Taking top prize were John and Margaret Murphy from Caherbarnagh with Neally Corkery and Mary Buckley in runner-up place.

LTV BACK ON AIR

Millstreet local television is back on air this Thursday night for the first programme of the new season.

Programme 213 includes a welcome back from the LTV2 team, scenes of the recent visit of a very impressive Air Ambulance to Millstreet Town Park and a special recording of music and dance at the White Gates Hotel in Killarney with musicians supreme Jerry McCarthy and Liam Healy of 'Autumn Fire' who play every Monday night at that very popular venue.

Programme 213 will be available on www.millstreet.ie and on television from Thursday, December 20, at 10pm on UHF.
