AMAZING LION KING
GREAT PRODUCTION BY PUPILS OF SCOIL LACHTAIN NAOFA
THE Ionad Pobail here in Cill na Martra was full to the door for the inaugural production of the Lion King recently. It was put on by the pupils of Scoil Lachtaín Naofa and every child had a part to play.
Dressed in spectacular costumes, the pupils sang, danced and spoke their parts very competently, proving once again that proper preparation prevents poor performance. All the hard work by the staff of Scoil Lachtaín insured it all went without a hitch.
The spectacular show was really appreciated by all the parents, grandparents and invited guests. Thankfully, it was recorded by Dan Joe of LTV and it is expected that DVDs of the production will be available shortly.
LA LE BRIDE
After a long wet winter, Lá le Bríde and the first day of Spring will be welcomed by all this Friday. The ancient tradition of putting the Brat Bhríde out to be blessed by the saint on the eve of the feast day continues still. Her little crosses can be seen in byres here and there, Reminding us to put our trust in St. Brigid of Kildare.
Next day is Candlemas Day and weather lore says, if Candlemas day is dry and bright, winter will remain in flight, if the day breaks dull with rain, winter will be on the wane.
