All smiles as Camera Club snaps up awards

THE members of the Fermoy Camera Club had four good reasons to be smiling recently when the club landed four prestigious awards at the Irish Photographic Federation National Shield competition in Dublin.

Club Secretary George O'Keefe was very happy as he outlined the club successes at what he termed "this very prestigious national competition and their success is recognition of the outstanding talent which is available within the Fermoy club."

The winning award members were Suzanne Merrigan - Silver medal in the individual colour Photograph class, The Club gained second place in the Monochrome category; third place in the Colour category and third place in the Overall Club category. Over twenty clubs took part with over three hundred photographers involved.

The Fermoy club which was formed in 2010 is currently one of a number of local groups which have been set up in the area in recent times, and which is proving to be a very active and successful club in a short period. For more information email or log onto
