Mallow Walking Club began its' winter season of walks with a lively hike in the Ballyhouras last weekend.
There was a good turn-out for the walk, known as 'The Canon Sheehan Loop'. They set off from Glenanaar, following the well marked trail through shady glens, over footbridges spanning mountain streams, past waterfalls, mass rock and leaping squirrels in the woodland for a thoroughly enjoyable trek.
There are several well planned walks to suit all tastes on the club's walking schedule between now and Christmas, some high some low, easy, moderate and strenuous. Some are local, others further afield in the Kerry Mountains, the Galtees or the Knockmealdowns.
