Talk on coping with exam stress
Published 26/09/2013 | 05:26
THERE are very few of us who could claim not to have felt a gut-wrenching apprehension at the prospect of approaching exams.
While the exam season may not be at the forefront of most students' minds at the moment, it is something that always looms in the background and stress levels inevitably increase as it draws closer.
With this in mind, the Solace parent support network based at the Mallow Primary Healthcare Centre is to host a free talk on the issue of exam stress at the centre on Saturday, October 28.
The talk will examine a range of issues aimed at understanding stress and how that can ultimately be used to empower people.
It will explain how stress can manifest itself and what can be learned from the experience.
Perhaps most importantly, the talk will show how people can tap into this information and use it to their advantage in supporting those facing exams to build confidence, effectiveness and resilience.
The event, which will run fro two hours from 10am, will be suitable for parents, teachers, school principals and adult students.
Spaces are limited, so early booking is essential.
