A resource-sharing service for businesses that was founded in Macroom and counts Swedish furniture giant Ikea amongst its supporters is to welcome its 1,000th member at an upcoming networking event at Maryborough House Hotel, on Thursday, October 24.
One of the keynote speakers at the Maryborough Hotel event will be Mark Finnegan, Sustainability Specialist at IKEA, who will explain the ways in which IKEA has benefited from membership of the organisation.
Founded in 2010, SMILE encourages the exchange of resources between businesses to make financial savings, reduce waste going to landfill and develop new business opportunities.
Also speaking at the event, which will be chaired by Sean O'Sullivan, CEO, South Cork Enterprise Board are Atilla Maygar, General Manager and founder of MAMUKKO and Keiron Philips, Green Business Project Manager, Environmental Protection Agency.
