THERE'S nothing quite like a bit of retail therapy to lift the spirits and as the extended Indian summer finally draws to a close, fashion conscious females of all ages are turning their attention to sourcing items for their winter wardrobes.
Boherbue Fashion Show was the perfect hunting ground for new season apparel where no less than eight fashion houses showcased their Autumn/Winter collections to a full house.
Local models consisting of tots, teens, and adults, certainly did justice to a selection of gorgeous clothing from Mods & Mini's, Ealu, O'Shea's, Lady Lydia, Niche, Patsy's Style Options, Phresh, and Nóirin's Fashions, with each shop giving a nod to seasonal trends such as tartan, hounds tooth, and leather jackets, along with stunning occasion wear in a myriad of colours and fabrics.
Rose Murphy and Mary O'Keeffe each took a turn at the microphone, and played a blinder as comperes, while Rathmore's Angela Sheehan, who was wearing a beautiful scarlet dress, walked away with the Best Dressed Lady Prize. To round off a great evening, management and members of Boherbue ladies football team, along with the two comperes, took to the catwalk to the sounds of 'Rock Me Mama Like a Wagon Wheel' ahead of the Boherbue girls clash with Aherlow on Sunday which, of course, they subsequently won well.
This event was run as a fundraiser for the upkeep of the Parish Hall and the Committee wishes to thank all their sponsors, the shops that took part, the Models, helpers, and everyone who attended.
