CHRISTMAS DAY SWIM:
Down Syndrome Ireland is dedicated to being the primary source of information and support to people with Down Syndrome, their families and the professional community, working towards an improved quality of life for their members along with a respect and acceptance of people with Down Syndrome as valued members of Irish society.
Down Syndrome Ireland needs to raise €2million annually to maintain existing essential and vital services for their members.
We can do our bit here in Newmarket by taking part in our supporting the Christmas Day Swim in the Island wood at 12.30pm. Sponsorship cards from Mary Stack on (029) 60444 or (087) 9439612.
Newmarket Christmas Ball will be held on Friday, December 7, in Safari's niteclub. There will be a mulled wine reception with light refreshments, lots of great music: Tim Mullane and the Avenues and David John.
We've had a number of hampers donated by local businesses and groups so there will be a draw of the ticket stubs on the night.
All proceeds go towards the town development association. Tickets are €12.50 each and are available in the Post Office and from Committee members.
It's going to be a great night and you'll be supporting your local community so please come along.
