IT is that time of year once again when loved ones will be reunited with family and friends from home and abroad. This writer will remember all those who will be on duty over the festive season for the good of all of us.
I must pay tribute to the emergency services, including paramedics, hospital staff, doctors, nurses and caterers, fire service personnel and gardai who will be on call and let us hope it will be a calm and peaceful period for them.
It must also be noted that older people living alone in the community require our attention. Make that phone call or call to people you know. A smiling face would be most welcome.
I plead with families who are receiving pets this Christmas to love and treat them well, not only for this time of year but for life.
Our thoughts and prayers are also with people who may have no loved ones at the Christmas table this year due to death or emmigration.
Special thanks to all those who make my job writing 'Around Mallow' so fullfilling and enjoyable and may I wish one and all a very peaceful and happy Christmas.
