David's image wins medal at photography awards
Congratulations to Blackwater Photographic Society (BPS) member David O'Donoghue who won a bronze medal in Intermediate Projected Open Image category last Sunday at the SACC regional round at Horse & Jockey Hotel in Thurles.
To win a medal on your first time of entering a competition is a very noteworthy event.
David thanked BPS members including Pakie O'Donoghue who gave David advice and support with his entry. David's awarded image along with his second entry will now go through to the IPF National finals early next year.
Other images submitted by other BPS members: Pakie O'Donoghue, Terry Conroy and Sean Murphy have also qualified for the IPF finals which was great news.
There was also a special surprise on the night when IPF President John Cuddihy presented Pakie O'Donoghue with a certificate of Honourable Mention from the 24th FIAP Colour Print Biennial Competition 2012 for his Image "The Rock" which was on Ireland's World Cup winning Seascape panel last year.
Pakie is presenting a Photographic Exhibition in Mallow Library from Thursday, November 7 to November 21 with local interests, some nature and local people. Feel free to go along and view the images or log on to www.blackwater photographic society.com.
