Cookies for Lourdes funds

Published 27/02/2014 | 05:26

A selection of top class cuisine is on offer from the Fifth Year students of Millstreet Community School in a fund raising cake sale in Millstreet GAA Community Hall on this Saturday night following 6.30pm Mass.

The venture will partly fund six students undertaking a trip to Lourdes next Easter as part of helpers to the IHCPT - Irish Pilgrimage Trust Youth Pilgrimage. The group comprising Leanne Kelleher, Leanne Murphy, Siobhan Sheehan, Edel Breen, Colum Fraser and Oisín Murphy will join thousands from Ireland and the UK for the week, made up of groups of 22 people - helpers and young people who face physical, intellectual and emotional challenges.

WELL DONE!

Congrats to Diarmuid Cronin, a pupil of St. Brendans National School and Millstreet Comhalthas Ceolteoirí Eireann, on winning the Munster Ceol an Geimhridh in the U13 Recitation. Diarmuid continued in the winning vein to collect a win in the Duhallow Scór na Paistí Finals last weekend.

GAA HAVOC

ongoing inclement weather is playing havoc with the intended GAA schedule. Millstreet's fixture against Blackwater Gaels in the U21 A Football Championship has fallen victim on a number of occasions. The game is refixed for this Friday night in Millstreet but if ground conditions don't permit, the game is likely for Saturday.
