MALLOW Camera Club proved once again that they are among one of the best clubs in the country.
At the annual Southern Association of Camera Clubs Competition/Exhibition hosted by Kilkenny Camera Club last weekend Mallow Camera Club took a third, a first place and a very credible seventh place in the black and white section. Overall the club came third. In addition John Hooton won a gold medal for the best image in the projected image section.
The panels now go on to the national finals which will be held in Athlone in May.
Divine Mercy celebrations
THE annual Divine Mercy Celebrations will be held in St. Mary's Church on Sunday, April 7 from 3pm to 5pm. The main celebrant will be Canon Gerard Casey with local and invited clergy. Chaplet and Rosary will begin at 2pm while Mass will be celebrated at 4pm. If people have flowers to present for this event they will be taken at St. Mary's Church at 3pm on Saturday, April 6. All are welcome.
WHEELSPINNER John Foley, Navigation Road c/o John Dineen won €75 in the Mallow GAA Member's Weekly draw which was held in Carrigoon on Tuesday March 19. The numbers drawn were 3 - 10 - 11 - 16. The €30 lucky dip winners were Carol Fitzgerald, Bellview Cottage c/o Sheehan's Butchers, Helen Curran c/o Jodi Hayes and Martin Nagle c/o Jean Davern. Meanwhile wheelspinner Melissa Healy won €75 in the draw which was held on Tuesday, March 26. The numbers drawn were 11 - 19 - 25 - 29. The €30 lucky dip winners were Mary Fuller c/o Willie O'Connor, Dave O'Connor c/o J.Hayes and Glenn Curtin c/o Liam Sheehan. The ten Easter egg winners were Catherine O'Donnell, Orlaith and Aoibhe Carey, Colin O;Sullivan, Mary Fitzpatrick, Mark and Dougie, Muriel O'Connell, Mary Buckley, Frances McCarthy, Tom O'Neill and Medical Centre Staff. Spinning the wheel on Tuesday, April 2 is Regina O'Connor. The jackpot is now €3,400.
