Bill's bullrush photo snaps up award

FIVE HEAD FOR NATIONAL FINALS

AT the Southern Asociation of Camera Clubs regional round of the National Nature Competition five members of Mallow Camera Club all had images qualify for the national finals, which will be held later in the year.

This years entry was up 25% on last year, proving there is a surge in interest in photography throughout the country.

Bill Power's colour image 'Amethyst Deceiver' won a silver medal and he also won the Best Peatland Ireland photo for his image 'Bullrush in Griston Boy'. Other members, Vivien Buckley, Jim Heffernan, Pat O'Donoghue, and John O'Flynn were also successful.

Mallow Camera Club meets every Monday night at the Southside Community Centre at 8.30 p.m. and their programme for 2013 is now in full swing. For more information log on to www.mallowcameraclub.com.
