'The Ballydesmond Gathering' is a brand new song penned and recorded by local PP Fr. Pat McCarthy which invites anyone throughout the world with connections to the parish to 'join in the fun here in Bally, the second weekend in July'.

The song will go on general release shortly to Irish centres, Radio Stations, and other media across the world and all proceeds from the sale of the single will go to fund The Gathering. Other forthcoming fundraising initiatives include a sponsored walk on Sunday, April 7, and an American Tea Party followed by music and dancing in the community centre on Friday, April 26.

The Gathering Festival will be held in Ballydesmond on July 12, 13, and 14, and will feature events like school sports, an exhibition of photographs, display of old roll books, an Irish night, soccer and football blitzes, an afternoon tea family themed reunion, local bus trail, dawn mass at the rising of the Blackwater, a social evening in the community centre, entertainment in local pubs, and a parade, with further events being planned at the time of going to press.

Readers with family members or friends abroad who may be interested in attending are urged to get in touch with them as soon as possible to allow them to make travel plans well in advance.
