THERE will be a wealth of local talent at the 'Tops of the Parish Grand Variety Show' that is being organised by Kanturk Community Council and produced by Wild Boar Productions in the Edel Quinn Hall, on Saturday, April 6 at 8 pm.

Participants on the night will include The Lorraine O'Riordan Gospel Choir, Lismire / Freemount Drama Group, Colette and Muireann Vaughan, Elle-Marie O'Dwyer, The Lehane Family trad group, Priority Bomb, Mary Notley and the newly formed Kanturk drama group, The Brogeen Players.

The Brogeen Players will perform a one-act comedy, 'Oh What a Night!', which tells the story of an ambitious young man, Gerry O'Brien, who will go to any lengths to please his oily boss, Leonard Fletcher. Gerry is aided and abetted by his best friend Andy and outspoken godmother, Kitty. But they haven't bargained on the surprise arrival of Fletcher's wife Margaret. Their plans are up scuttled with hilarious results!

A great evening's entertainment is promised and proceeds will go to local charities. Tickets are €10 and family rates will also apply.
