If so a fascinating genealogy night course set to get underway at Mallow College in Summerhill may be just what you bare looking for.

Entitled 'How To Trace Your Family Tree', the eight-week course will run at the campus on Monday nights from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. from Monday, January 27.

Drawing its inspiration from the successful 'Who Do You Think You Are' television show, the course will examine on and off line ways to forensically explore your family history.

It will show you how to use civil, church, emigration and census records to trace through the generations and may even help you discover a long lost cousin in search of an heir.

The course will also show you how to organise clan and family gatherings.

A basic knowledge of computers is required in order to use genealogical websites.

Enrolment costs €105, with a €5 discount for booking online.

To book a place contact 022 43030 or visit www.mallowcollege.ie.
