Daniel Roche, representing Banteer Camogie Club, made it through to the Voice of the Glen final.

ONCE again the Glen Theatre in Banteer was packed to the rafters as the contestants in the second semi-final of the 2014 Voice of the Glen competition were put through their paces.

Eight contestants took to the stage of the venue last Saturday night, with Una Marie Cremin (Jeff's Bar, Castlemagner), Liam McCarthy (Cork County Open) and Daniel Roche (Banteer Camogie Club) securing the coveted spots in the final.

The third and last semi-final of the hugely successful talent competition will take place at the Glen Theatre on this Friday night, with another eight contestants hopeful of being among the nine finalists.

They will be; Mary Buckley (Millstreet Actively Retired), Eimear Guinee (Pieta House), Angela Lyons (Jeff's Bar, Castlemagner), John Murphy (Cois Abhainn), Alana Barry (Millstreet Camogie Club), Denis Lehane (Quinlan's bar, Meelin), Eva O'Riordan Mullane (Marymount Hospice) and Erinn O'Connell (Forest Hotel, Blarney).

All will be hoping to secure a place in the final, which will take place on Friday, April 11, for the chance to win the top prize of €1,000 and a further €500 for the group or place they represent.

Admission to Friday's semi-final will be €10 with audience members advised to book their tickets early as demand is again expected to be huge.
