Mark stars at photo exhibition in AIB

The AIB Photojournalism Exhibition, a collection of award-winning and highly commended images from the annual awards of the Press Photographers' Association of Ireland was launched in A.I.B. Charleville last week.

It will be particularly pleasing to local people as North Cork man Mark Condren was named Photojournalist of the Year 2013 at this year's awards. This is the third time the Castletownroche native and former Corkman photographer has won the award, having also received the prestigious accolade in 2010 and 2011.

AIB branch manager Pat O'Connor said that they were delighted to host the exhibition and he congratulated Mark on his success and also thanked the local photographers, William Casey and Michael McGrath for their work in recording events at the bank and generally throughout the area each week.

The exhibition features 125 prints and will be in Charleville until the 28th June. Cork is well represented with award winning and highly commended images from Denis Minihane, Denis Scannell and Dan Linehan (Examiner), Marc O'Sullivan (Marc O'Sullivan Photography) and Michael McSweeney (Provision Photography).

Corkman Comments Facility

INM has taken the decision to remove the commenting facility on its online platform to minimise the legal risk to our business that arises from Ireland's draconian libel awards system.

We continue to look forward to receiving comments through direct email contact or via social media, some of which may still be featured on the website
