THE young stars of Centre Stage School in Mallow will be taking part in Ireland's first National Showchoir Championships in Dublin on November 2.

The showchoir c'ships are described as the newest sensation to hit Ireland and it promises to be a huge event with groups competing from all over Ireland. "It is already an achievement to be chosen as Centre Stage School were one of seven groups to be selected as finalists out of the 40 groups who initially auditioned," said Aideen McAuliffe of Centre Stage.

The senior students will perform a seven minute singing and movement section based on the Musical 'Dance of the Vampires' which is choreographed by renowned choreographer David O'Connor with Colm O'Regan as Musical Director.

In fact, the students already got a trial run in their costumes in the parade in Cork at the weekend celebrating Rebel Week.
