Legends of the showband era to play at Glen Theatre

TWO legends of the showband era will delight fans when they appear in Concert at the Glen Theatre on Saturday, August 16.
Gloria Sherry is best remembered for her iconic hit 'One Day at a Time' which reached number one in the Irish Charts where it remained for an astonishing 90 weeks in 1978. Nowadays, Gloria sings a mixture of gospel, country, and Irish, and continues to pull in the crowds all over Ireland.
John Glenn replaced Big Tom as lead vocalist with the Mainliners and went on to carve out a hugely successful career in his own right. He was the headline act at Wembley Country Music Featival, has toured extensively, and released several classic albums throughout his career.
Local singer/musician Sheila Fitzgerald will be also taking to the stage as guest artist and compere.
Sheila and Mike of Heart to Heart Band are enjoying a lot of airplay at the moment with their hit single "Jackson". They have entertained audiences throughout the UK and Scotland on numerous occasions, and have also toured in the USA, France, and South Africa.
Diane Cannon from the Donegal Gaeltacht will bring her own magic to the show. She is a renowned sean nós singer and fiddle player who does equal justice to country numbers. Diane is currently headlining a festival in Lorient, France, to an audience of 10,000.
Musical backing for all the artists will be provided by the fabulous five piece Hot Country Band. Tickets €20 on the door, show begins at 8.30pm.
