RISING Kilbehenny star Kellie Lewis has been installed as favourite to win Voice of Ireland by bookmaker Boylesports.

The Voice Of Ireland aired its second show on Sunday night and Boylesports reported afterwards that there has already been plenty of support for Kellie to win the competition.

The 21-year-old from Kilbehenny, who will be coached by her idol, Cranberries singer Dolores O'Riordan, has been all the rage in the past few days and is now 2/1 favourite to win the competition, having been backed down from 7/1.

Jay Boland, who was installed last week as the favourite, has been eased out to 11/4 from 2/1 to win following the plunge on Kellie but still remains popular with punters.

Liam Glynn, PR executive at Boylesports said it's very early days in The Voice Of Ireland but they already have a massive liability with Kellie.

"We laid bets at 7/1 and then continued to attract support at 4/1 and have now have had to shorten Kellie further into 2/1 as at present she is all that punters want," said Liam.

While it's early days the signs, so far, are good for Kellie, who is an experienced artiste and already sings in her band, Kellie Lewis & The Timekeepers.

In last year's Voice, Fermoy singer Kelly Mongan was an early favourite, and also fancied were eventual winner Keith Hanley and Mallow's Shannon Murphy – and the three finished as the top three.
