RATHCOOLE'S Annmarie O'Riordan is rapidly making a name for herself in entertainment circles and a live performance at the INEC Acoustic Club, Killarney attracted a capacity attendance last week.
Delivering an impeccable performance, Annmarie thrilled her legion of supporters from across the South West Region.
And the fans weren't let down once MEP Sean Kelly introduced the star of the bill to the audience. Amazingly, the crowd could recite almost all the songs with ease, just to prove that loyalty she enjoys from extensive airplay and a collection of CDs to her credit.
"I was thrilled with the introduction from Seán Kelly. He stated I could do what Kerry could never do- the five in a row for I've five albums released to date. Indeed I was overwhelmed by the capacity attendance and the crowd was just fantastic", she said.
Indeed Annmarie repertoire delighted her fans in sn intimate setting, particularly classics "Cooraclare", "The Land of the Gale", "The Boys of Barr na Sráide", "This story I tell you is true" to "Eileen McMahon".
Adding to the atmosphere was a talented backing band from North Cork including Alan Finn, Ger Naughton and Michael O'Connor.
Annmarie recorded her first song as a 12 year old on CCÉ's CD "Down Erin's Lovely Lee" in 2001.
Follow up recordings met with overwhelming success, indeed, Annmarie's fifth album "The Joys of my Heart" adds a new dimension, the excellent title track is composed by the creative Annmarie herself.
Holding a diverse career, Annmarie is an Official Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann adjudicator, lead singer of renowned "Celtic Feet" and tours throughout Europe with the theatrical extravaganza along with touring worldwide with her own band in solo concerts
Currently Annmarie is a primary school trainee teacher in Mary Immaculate in Limerick yet is looking forward to a number of concert coming up in the U.K over the next few months.
"I have a tour of the west coast commencing on June 1 in the Colman Heritage Centre, Sligo", she said.
And the good news for Cork fans is Annmarie returns to Munster for a gig on June 21 in the Eire Og Pavilion, Ovens.
