ORGANISERS of the Kildorrery Hillfest 2013 have once again pulled off a major coup by securing the services of one of Ireland's top musical groups for a headline gig at the event.
Having last year brought Bressie to North Cork, Hillfest 2013 will play host to folk/rock outfit Hermitage Green in the festival marquee on Saturday, July 6.
The band, which is renowned for their eclectic range of music covering everything from 90s pop to traditional Irish tunes, will be supported on the night by the Seducers who played with Bressie last year. Tickets for the gig, priced at €15 are available from Kildorrery GAA club members and local outlets.
The gig is just one exciting event in the four-day programme for Hillfest 2013, which will kick of on Thursday, July 4 with the return of the Monster Table Quiz in aid of Drive to Survive campaign and Marymount Hospice. Table for four cost €40 and can be booked through Joe Sherlock on 086 804 8330.
The following night the festival will host a night of comedy entitled 'Tying the Knot on the Hill', which will take the form of a mock wedding between groom Dave Roche and bride Siobhan O'Donnell. Entry to the event, which is being organised with the help of the local drama group, is €10 with funds going to the NCBI.
Hillfest 2013 will draw to a close on Sunday July 7 with a family fun day in the afternoon followed by a 'Gathering' Kildorrery style. This will feature appearances from local GAA greats of yesteryear and will offer returning emigrants a welcome opportunity to meet up with old friends. The free event will also feature music from the great Donny Arnold among others.
