Getting in gear for the soapbox race

Gearing up for the Donoughmore Macra soapbox race.

Donoughmore Macra are organising a Soapbox Race. It will take place on Easter Sunday, 31st of March at 2pm. The route will be in Firmount, Donoughmore by St.Joseph's National School, Firmount.

€20 entry per soapbox. Scrutinising of the soapboxes will be done between 1-1.45pm with the first race starting at 2pm. There will be prizes on the day for 1st, 2nd and 3rd fastest overall, Most Innovative Kart and Best Looking Kart.

On the day there will be other competitions such as an Easter egg hunt (Free of charge) with the winning team getting a prize.

There will be a Ball Race at the end of the day with the winner getting €150 and second place getting €50. All proceeds from the Ball Race are going to Irish Cancer Society.

BERRINGS

Berrings Macra will be hosting a Variety Concert in Inniscarra Community Centre on Friday 22nd March at 8pm. This will include the Capers show that came 1st in the All Ireland Capers Final in February as well as many other acts. Well done to the mens and ladies Basketball teams who took part in Muskerry Basketball Competition.

Best of luck to the boys as they go forward to represent the region at end of the month in National finals in Limerick. Well done to Siobhan O'Leary as she did the club proud representing Berrings at Titles on Saturday in Coocower Housel, Macroom.

Finally, well done to all the acts that represented the club in National Talent Contest Friday night in Ballynaly.
