Dawn Chorus Walk Castlemagner Sinsir

CASTLEMAGNER Sinsir Club are celebrating The Bealtaine Festival with the Dawn Chorus walk on the morning of Saturday May 18th.
Assembly is at 5:15am at the Knocknanuss Monument, Glenlohane. The fee is €10 for adults and €5 for children which includes breakfast. Participants are advised to wear appropriate footwear and high visibility vests. The route is roughly 4 miles long with various stops along the way. Vivian O'Gorman of Birdwatch Ireland will give a talk on the different types of birdsong. The walk will be lead by Fr Michael Dorgan PP. The route takes in many interesting places, Rathmaher, Springrove, Springville, Ballintubber and Sally's Cross. including The Picturesque setting of Glenlohane House, one of the most Beautiful Hidden Ireland Country Houses, owned and run by Desmond and Melanie Sharp Bolster and with their kind permission we have the pleasure of walking through the grounds which is an area rich in bird habitats.
On completion of the walk you are invited to Irish breakfast in the Community Centre in Castlemagner where a fun quiz will take place over breakfast to test your knowledge on the walk. Prizes will be given to the first three whiz kids.
Still celebrating the Bealtaine Festival, on the same night May 18th, a dance will be held in the Community Centre from 9pm to 11pm. Music will be provided by the ever popular Liam O Sullivan. Admission is €7.50. Refreshments will be served.
