The long running, ever evolving festival runs from Thursday to Sunday, July 17-20 and this year it includes a special bonus Legend of Luke Kelly concert.

New innovations to the festival this year include 'The Fittest Four' competition, sponsored by Juliet Murphy Health and Fitness Club, with a substantial first prize of €400.

Also new this year is a jujitsu and children's acrobatics demonstration; teddy bears' picnic with Cork Music Club and a contractors tug of war competition.

And, of course, there's the established festival favourites, such as the Donoughmore 7 road race, Bingo Bonanza and inter-townland tug of war.

Meanwhile, McCormack's Amusements will provide the funfair throughout.

The main event of Donoughmore Carnival is the day long festivities on the Sunday, where attractions include a farmers' market, Munster Tug of War Championship, novelty dog show, Timed Loom Band competition, sheaf tossing, bonny baby competition and many many more.

The evening concludes with a BYOB open mike singing night. Normally this would bring proceedings to a close but, as a special extra event, The Legend of Luke Kelly will perform a once off concert to wrap things up in style this year.
