LAST sunday the racing season kicked off in earnest with a full range of events in Navan and the Carlow club had a team of riders starting in the Senior race.
After a good winter training three carlow road club riders hit the line keen to get the 2012 season off to a flyer Seamus Brennan John O'shea and Tom Lucas.
The race started fast and the bunch had been fragmented into several groups but at the end the first lap with the three carlow riders were still in the front group and with very strong headwinds it made the race impossible for the Carlow riders to escape and the race came down to a very hectic bunch sprint.
All the Carlow riders were there in the front but just outside the prizes but as it is early the season looks good again for Carlow cycling
Next week the riders head back to Meath to Bohermeen and with the good form it wont be long before they are back in the prizes
