MARTY MORRISSEY from RTE was the special guest to the Seven Oaks hotel on Friday evening as the winners and runner up medals were presented to all the hard working and deserving clubs.
There were two stand out moments on the night. The first was when Morrissey wanted to run an exercise with all the guests. A hugging exercise in which everyone in the room had to turn firstly to the person on their right and then to the person on their left and hug them for a job well done in 2012. Even the referees in the room got hugged!
The second stand out moment was from Senior county board chairman Michael Meaney when he issued a challenge to the room as urged all the juvenile players, mentors, and all involved to ensure that the Minor championships in hurling and football are more competitive and to get clubs in March to set programs and plans in place and put in the hard work to guarantee a successful 2013.
