CARLOW HURLERS were very involved with the Senior Hurling Championship in Boston this summer.
The Carlow boys played on the Wexford hurling team that won the championship.
This was a historic win for the Carlow players. They help Wexford defeat a Galway inter county selection fresh off the championship at home which included an All Star forward.
This did not intimidate Edmund Spruhan from Myshall who was the goalkeeper for Wexford. He did not concede a goal to the 2011 All Star forward. Edmund has been a great leader for the team since his arrival in Boston. Paudie Kehoe turned the game around in the last few minute when Wexford were down two points. He scored a last minute goal to save the day.Red haired Paul Coady MLR played a very consistent game and contributed a great deal to the win.
Peter Ryan, Ballykillen, was responsible for Wexford winning the semi final game. Ryan went up high in the air and caught a ball on the square in the last minute with hurls flying everywhere. He managed to get the ball out to Michael Moloney who scored the winning point. Peter missed the final because of a concussion. Kevin Kehoe brother of Paudie was a sub with the team. Kevin was recovering from an injury. The Carlow hurlers includes Edmund Spruhan, Myshall, Paul Coady, Mount Leinster Rangers, Paudie Kehoe and Kevin Kehoe, St Mullen, Peter Ryan, Ballykillen.
