TULLOW 18 LONGFORD 3: WILLIAM CANAVAN put on a man of the match display against Longford at the Blackgates on Sunday as his side ran out 18-3 winners.
His two first half penalties along with Andy Turners try gave Tullow their 11 first half points as they completely dominated their opponents on every part of the field. After the restart Tullow showed no let up and Canavan ran in a try which he converted himself.
The win puts Tullow on 48 points a massive 14 points ahead of their nearest challengers Clondalkin. Tullow have racked up a massive 305 points in 11 games and conceded just 121. Only two teams in the division above (1A) have a better scoring record while only one team, Coolmine, have a better defensive record. Tullow's focus will now turn to the Towns Cup where they lost out to Enniscorthy in last years final.
