Ryan and Rossiter reach semi-finals

CARLOW players Andy Ryan and John Rossiter have qualified for the All-ireland semi of the DMAD when they had a convincing win over Ned Buggy and Gareth Somers in the Leinster final recently.

The Carlow duo won in two straight games 21-6 21-10. Rossiter has also qualified for the All-ireland final of the singles after a good victory over Donal O'Riordan from Cork.

Meanwhile Carlow's juveniles were out of luck in the Leinster semi-finals when Kilkenny swept the boards in all matches, U12s Dinny Farrell lost to Ciaran Cooney; Eoin Hosy/cormac O'brien lost to Eoin Brennan/jack Hayes; U-13'S Liam Murphy lost to Conor Murphy; U13D Shay Byrne/joseph Byrne lost to Cathal Barry/eoin Regan; Paddy Shanahan/alan Hosey were dft by Niall Walsh/padraig Cooney. The U16S served up a thriller but Jim O'leary was pipped by JJ English and in the U17s Joey Curtis lost out to Brendan Hyland
