O'Brien secures All-Ireland title

The south east team of five players including Carlow's Colvin O'Brien won the All-Ireland Intermediate team championships in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow.

The lads beat their south west opponents in the semi-final with a score line of 3 frames to 0, with the Carlow man Colvin O'Brien winning his match 3-0 against a tough Cork opponent.

In the final the lads were up against the boys from the north west but once again the lads won 3-0 with wins from AdrianMorrisey, Benny O'Brien and Colvin O'Brien sealing victory with breaks of 77, 79, and 76 in his match and securing the All-Ireland crown for the south east.

Colvin O'Brien would like to thanks his few sponsors for looking after him in the past and present season, Devoy's Garage Carlow, Ready's Bar Carlow, the Dereen Inn, Tullow, Atlantic Fishing and Gun Shop Carlow, Fujifilm Tullow, Carlow County Council.

It's the second year in a row the south east lads won this perpetual All-Ireland Intermediate Cup and the victory was fully deserved.
