Carlow manager Anthony Rainbow has insisted he's going nowhere when it comes to his position with the Senior footballers after another embarrassing display in the national league.

A second, worryingly below par performance from the footballers away to Leitrim in Carrick-On-Shannon lead to the manager being asked if was going to stick with it.

Having laid partial blame to the fact Carlow had another man very harshly sent off to a black and then a red card in Mark Brennan, the manager did admit the nature of the defeat was unacceptable but that he was going to stick to the challenge.

"We are underdogs in Division 4 and we are hoping to win games by one two or three points to be in the game in the last few minutes so that we can compete and have a fighting chance to win the match but when we're a man down it makes our life very difficult," said Rainbow.

The manager continued on that path by saying he wasn't overly pleased with the referee.

"Referees make funny decisions and he certainly made one or two funny decisions today," said Rainbow in reference to the sending off of Murtagh Ware to a black card and his replacement Mark Brennan and then moments later taking no action against Emlyn Mulligan for the same challenge.

"It's not acceptable from mine or the players point of view, we go out to win matches we had 32 or 33 lads training on Thursday night, it's the same every night and they are working hard, and they are not doing that to lose games," said the manager in defence of his players.

Asked finally if he would stick with the task at hand for the remainder of the campaign.

"I'm most certainly not going anywhere, has there been suggestions that I should? That's the easy way out, I'm not going anywhere," said Rainbow.
