A TULLOW teacher is celebrating after winning €23,000 on the Winning Streak Gameshow.

Con Cronin, who is originally from Coolea, Co. Cork, has been living in Tullow for the past 34 years and plans to use the money to visit his daughter in Singapore.

He is a widower and has two daughters, Cait, who works as an occupational therapist in Singapore and Roisin.

He is a primary school teacher and teaches 18 pupils in third to sixth class at Bigstown National School in Baltinglass. The students were back to school on Monday to congratulate their teacher.

Con bought a scratch card from Supervalu in Bunclody. He was visiting his sister's house when a friend text him to tell him he had been chosen for the show.

He enjoys hill walking and drama and had travelled to many places around the world trekking.

He says he would loved to use his winnings to travel to Singapore as he has never been there before. Pic: MacInnes Photography
