FINE Gael European Election candidate for Ireland South, Simon Harris TD, has pointed to the rich potential for the south east after meeting with the workers and executives at Autolaunch in Bagenalstown last week.
Headed up by two Carlow brothers, Autolaunch employs 300 people locally providing fenders for the motor industry and such high-profile clients as Bentley.
Mr Harris, the only Leinster-based candidate in the constituency, said that the south east can thrive with scope for similar employment-boosting companies like Autolaunch.
'This really is one of the hidden gems of the south east,' he said. 'Since 2002, Autolaunch has successfully innovated and is now a thriving, internationally recognised manufacturing hub in its industry. It shows that there is a central place for manufacturing in Ireland and the south east providing new thinking and fresh ideas are brought to the table.'
